Progression in Calculation (Written)
This session focuses on how to develop mental strategies in calculation · Understand progression in mental calculation · Gain familiarity with teaching approaches · Provide resources to support acquisition of secure written methods.
Maths: Meeting the Needs of all Pupils
How will you ensure that each child in your class is making progress? The session will focus on strategies to ensure progression, how to support the least able and how to stretch the most able.
Physical Education
How will you ensure that each child in your class is making progress in PE? The session will focus on understanding key features in a great PE lesson and how to build skills up. It will develop your own confidence in teaching gymnastics and team games
Science
A win win scenario: strategies for primary science lessons that are proven to improve pupils' attitudes towards and attainment in science. The session will focus on the development of lessons that encourage pupils thinking, through talking and doing science.
Developing Literacy through Literature
How do you develop literacy skills via literature and key texts? How do you find quality texts? You will go away with resources and strategies and an understanding of how to use them in the classroom.
Computing
How do you develop your teaching of computing within the new national curriculum as a non-specialist? You will leave with resources and practical strategies to use in the classroom
