About the INSET Day
There is evidence that challenging pupils in an inclusive way raises their attainment and also improves their attitudes to learning. This INSET day will focus on ways of doing this by the encouragement of pupils’ higher order thinking skills through the normal curriculum. This will include questioning skills, task setting and the development of classroom talk. Links will also be made to Carol Dweck’s work on Mindset and resilience.
About the Trainer
The day will be led by Helen Wilson , Programme Lead at Oxford Brookes University. Helen has taught extensively at both Primary and Secondary level. She then then moved into higher education and teacher training. She has worked with many teachers on various research projects and in CPD, presenting at conferences both nationally and internationally.
