Differentiation in Maths – Ensuring Progress for All

Problem Solving and Reasoning in Key Stages 1 and 2 Mathematics This session has been designed to help teachers develop their strategies when approaching two of the three aims of the National Curriculum for Maths. It aims to increase understanding of effective practice in teaching problem solving and reasoning, while facilitating and supporting cross-school practical lesson study projects, with a clear focus on improving pupil learning and engagement. This course will equip you to confidently plan and teach inspirational mathematics lessons that result in engagement of all pupils in meaningful learning activities and support the aims of the National Curriculum. This course is suitable for ECTs or NQTs +1. West Berkshire schools can book through the SLA portal, if all Downland Alliance  courses booked, 20% discount is applied.

Computing and Technology Enhanced Learning

KS1 & KS2 Computing An overview of planning and activities that will enable teachers to consider how they will meet the computing curriculum in KS1. These approaches will include discussion of how non-digital or ‘unplugged’ methods will allow children to develop computational thinking. This course is suitable for ECTs or NQTs +1.
