Children’s Literature and the Importance of Reading for Pleasure
This course will be based on reading and findings with regards to best practice for sharing children’s books in the classroom. There is increasing evidence to show that teacher subject knowledge about children’s books is key to the raising of standards, and so the session looks to promote an ethos of support and sharing of great children’s literature throughout the school whilst also supporting teachers with the skills to ask rich, engaging questions and foster positive booktalk in their schools.
